Opening of new Nordic Baltic Culture Centre in USST
On the 28th of October, the Nordic Baltic Culture Centre at University of Shanghai for Science and Technology (USST) was officially opened. The purpose of the center is to spread knowledge about Nordic and Baltic culture.
The driving force behind the center is Borås Högskolan, with Mr Rolf Appelkvist as the front figure. During the opening ceremony, young Chinese musicians demonstrated their talents on guitar and piano, and Scandinavian representatives, such as Swedish Consul Ms Linda Backteman, extended their good wishes for the centre.
After the speeches and the music, the guests were guided from the music hall to the center where Danish Consul General, Mr Nicolaj Prytz, and Estonian Consul General, Mr Jaan Reinhold, had the honor of cutting the ribbon, officially marking the opening of the center. Inside, the guests were treated to drinks and canapés, live music, and a chance to meet and greet. The Nordic Baltic Culture Centre offers three floors of Scandinavian and Baltic culture in a laid-back atmosphere that makes both students and other guests feel welcome.
