Finnish Minister Discussed EU Crisis with Fudan Students

On 10th of April, the Finnish Minister for European Affairs and Foreign Trade, Mr Alexander Stubb, visited Fudan University and the Nordic Centre. Prior to his visit here, the Minister went to nearby Kunshan to attend the opening ceremony of the KONE Park manufacturing site, engineering facility and research and development center.

In the afternoon, Mr Stubb had an official meeting with the Fudan leadership before giving a speech for Nordic and Chinese students at the Nordic Centre. The speech was entitled: How Europe will overcome the current crisis? - a time for new opportunities for China and Finland.

Afterwards the Minister took time to answer questions from the audience. One Chinese student was particularly happy about being able to attend the Finnish minister´s speech as he had the same day been informed that he had been accepted into a PhD-programme in Finland – on top of that it was also the student´s birthday. The student asked the Minister for his advice on living in Finland and the answer was clear: “Bring warm clothing and get a Nokia.”
